This rare survivor from the second world war is signed by the soldiers on H.M.Transport No.25, which included Māori reinforcements for the 28th Māori Battalion. The strong Māori influence on this ship's magazine (and thus the troops of the ship) can be seen by the cover, which was designed by Pineamine Taiapa, and articles on "The revival of the Haka". Not all magazines of the era contained such clear Māori influence, so this is an excellent example of the resurgence of Māori culture which continues to this day.
