-Here is a beautiful 1666 manuscript Diploma in Canon and Civil Law for Carolus Pistonus de Zalmellis Leone from the University of Padua.

-Red Morocco Binding with gold tooling
-Seal of Saint Gregory Barbadici – the Cardinal of Padua at the time. He was known for his diplomatic and scholastic skills, and was later beatified in 1960.
5 page hand written gold heightened manuscript with decorated borders. The borders contain peacocks, pomegranates, strawberries and Pears. There is a beautiful portrait of Carolus with his name below and The Virgin Mary looking down favourably from above.
The degree is signed by Antonius Marcus Paulutius – a Priest and Lawyer who is known for his published tract on ecclesiastical law, and Aloysius Baratti.
An excellent example of 17th Century Italian Manuscript work in a fine binding and produced to a high standard.
