This is the rare first edition of one of the most important early books on cavalry tactics. It gives a detailed account of the history of cavalry, including the use of Elephants and Camels in ancient warfare. It is illustrated with fine engravings of tactical formations with each horseman individually represented. The text and engravings describes how to care for horses, tactics, handling and management in battle. A fascinating early text on cavalry and military tactics.
