Soft yellow binding with embossed decoration and title ticket with green text. Numbered pages with 100 woodblock print decorations, including the book editions of the Great wave and Fuji at Dawn.
Each of the 3 tomes has a 2 pages preface and 26 pages of single or double page illustrations
Very good condition overall - some loosening of covers, a small hole to the top of page 7 of volume 2.
This is one of the most famous Japanese illustrated Books and the masterwork in book form of Hokusai. The glorious mount Fuji, which dominates 13 provinces has always inspired the Japanese. In this series, it is demonstrated from many angles and distances. Varied scenes of daily life, weather patterns, and mythological stories are used to illustrate Mount Fuji.
