"Te Karere O Te Rongo Pai" - The Messenger of the Gospel

These four 19th century Māori evangelical tracts are an uncommon example of regional NZ Māori printing - being produced in Gisborne. Four editions are represented here from c1890 - 14, 24, 26,28.

A nice touch is a Christmas blessing for the year 1890: "He Manaakitanga. Mo te Kirihimete, 1890" in issue 14.

Near fine condition - a few scattered areas of foxing and small marks and tears at folds.

Printed at the Herald Office for the N.Z. Native Tract Institution, Gisborne [N.Z.], 1885.

Numbers 24, 26, 28 were printed by H.J Bushnell in Gisborne.
