This was a landmark publication as it was the first in Europe to accurately describe Portuguese Goa and Asia. It also described the trade in Spices and Precious stones and soon after its publication the Dutch sent its first trading missions to Goa and Asia. The book was lavishly illustrated - although my Dutch copy sadly misses these valuable plates and maps. There were several later editions in Latin, French and English alongside a German edition by De Bry
