The second account is a translation of Ralph Hamor's "A True Discourse of the Present State of Virginia", originally published in London in 1615. The third part contains a translation of Captain John Smith's "A Desciption of New England". Plates 1-6 depict Vespucci's voyage. Plates 7 depicts Pocahontas, plate 8 Powhatan (here supplied in a German 1st edition), plate 9 Powhatan, Plate 10 Ralph Hamor and Sir Thomas Dale with Powhatan, plate 11 Hunting in Virginia (here supplied in a German 1st edition), and plate 12 Captain John Smith in a storm.
Disbound but complete 1st edition , here with the second issue title page depicting Neptune. Some plates from another copy. Toning to pages and some of different sizes. Plates 8 and 11 are in German. Despite the above, this part is uncommon as a stand alone book on the market and an important and desirable early illustrated book for any Americana collection.
Parts 1-9 were published between 1590 & 1602, and are relatively common on the market. There was a 17 year gap until 1619 when part 10 was published. The later parts (10-13) are rarer on the market than the earlier parts.
