-3 octavo volumes in early 17th Century blind stamped calf "Oxford bindings" with characteristic diagonal hatching to upper and lower spine and original paper tickets.
-With early endpapers using Giles Fletcher’s the Elder's (1548-1611) "Carmina" and an early (unidentified) work on Clouds and natural history. Old binding waste was a characteristic of early Oxford bindings.
-Very good condition - some wear to joints (but all firm), damage to upper spine of one tome, ties with losses. Text minor toning. Overall an excellent set of early 17th Century Oxford bindings.
- The original owner has written on the last flyleaf in an early english hand instructions to the binder "Binde these 3 qu(?) in one volume in 4o (Quarto) ...rolles and edges (Second line illegible)
