-This copy is complete in 3 parts: [2 blanks] 50, 70 [6],110 [6], [2 blanks] and contains fascinating 14^th Century binding waste as fly leaves. These are likely Italian legal documents but may require further work to translate fully. It’s bound in 19^th Century full vellum with guilt gauffered edges to pages

The work was written by Pope Gregory First around 590 and was hugely influential to the early church. A copy of the work was taken to England by Augustine of Canterbury in 597, and it was later translated into Old English by Alfred the Great in the 9^th Century to improve the education of the clergy in England during the Anglo Saxon period.
